THE BISHOP'S MEMO ON THE RE-OPENING OF CHURCHES IN THE KOFORIDUA DIOCESE

TO : ALL CLERGY AND RELIGIOUS
SUBJECT: RE-OPENING OF CHURCHES
DATE: JUNE 3, 2020
May the Peace of the Lord be with you! Last Sunday, May 31, the President of the Republic , His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo addressed  the nation on the COVID -19 Pandemic. He announced a phased-easing of COVID - 19 restrictions beginning Friday, June 5, 2020. He also mentioned that religious activities could start on Friday for the Muslim communities while Christians would start on Saturday, June 6 with the Adventist and for the other Christian groups on Sunday, June 7 with some further details.

I wish to inform you that congregational church services are NOT to commence in any Parish or Quasi -Parish until I officially communicate that to you. In the meantime, we are working hard on some protocols that will guide the diocese. This will be discussed thoroughly and after a general concensus is reached the final decision will be communicated to you about when we can re-assemble for church services.

Thank you for your anticipated positive response to this memo. I wish you all God's blessings during this time and entreat all to observe the neccessary protocols to avoid getting infected by this deadly virus. May Charles Lwanga and his Companions, our African martyrs intercede for us all!
