A BRIEF PROFILE OF CHRIST THE KING QUASI-PARISH - NEW ABIREM.

 Christ the King Catholic Church, New Abirem is the Parish Center. It is located on the new Abirem-Kade road, opposite the new Abirem government hospital. It was calved out of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Ntronang in the year 2012. Rev. Fr. William Kusime was the first Priest In-Charge of the Quasi-Parish. He was appointed on the 1st of November, 2012 but assumed duty officially on the 20th of November, 2012. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Adarkwa was taking care of the Quasi-Parish until Rev. Fr. William Kusime finally assumed duty. On the 3rd of October, 2018, Rev. Fr. William Kusime was transferred to St. Catherine Parish, Kade and Rev. Fr. Noah Tseko was also transferred from Somanya to replace him as the second Priest In-Charge of the Quasi-Parish. The church building can contain about four hundred (400) faithful.

BLESSED SACRAMENT PARISH-AKIM NTRONANG

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHURCH:
The church was brought from Saltpond to Ntronang by Kwadwo Amissah, Kwabena Gyan, Kwaku Nkrumah Turkson and Kwateng “the cripple” in 1911.

The parish celebrated her 50th (Golden jubilee) anniversary of its blessing by late Bishop J.O. Bowers in December, 2007. The centenary anniversary was celebrated in 2011.

On July 6, 1992, the Catholic Diocese of Koforidua was created. This was publicly announced by his Holiness Pope John Paul II (now St. John Paul), through the Papal Bull (an official Church document) Quod iusta quidem, on November 21, 1992. It was the tenth in Ghana, carved from the then Diocese of Accra.
