PROFILE OF ST. THERESA PARISH, SUHUM
St. Theresa Parish began as a small community in 1966. It was founded by some traders who were resident in Suhum at the time. The first resident priest of the church who later became the first parish priest was Rev. Fr Aloysius Hoguth, SVD. The church which began with some few members has grown into not only a Parish but also given birth to St. Michael Catholic Church, Ayekotse, a suburb of Suhum.

St. Theresa as a parish is located at Suhum, off the Suhum—Koforidua highway, mainly along the road. It is named after St. Theresa of the Child Jesus whose feast day is 1st October.  Currently, it is under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Fr John Gabriel Owusu-Frempong as the Parish Priest and Rev. Fr Daniel Tetteh Tackie as the Parochial Vicar. The Parish and her pastoral needs are within the Suhum Municipality, East Akim Municipality and Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region. It falls within the Asamankese Deanery with the following Parishes as her neighbours: St. Joseph, Adoagyiri to the East, St. Mary, Asamankese to the South, St. Francis of Assisi, New-Tafo to the West and St. Theresa, Effiduase-Koforidua to the North.
