NEW LABORATORY AND ICU FOR ST DOMINIC HOSPITAL, AKWATIA

 In a related development, the Administrator full of joy and excitement thanked God for the life of all the founders of the Hospital especially the Dominican Sisters of Germany and their benefactors. He also expressed his appreciation to the Bishop, Hospital Management Team, the General Staff and all Stakeholders for their hard work.  He also lauded their foreign sponsors especially Mr. and Mrs. Ruebsam, Dr and Mrs Jester, Rotary Club, and USA Ambassador Self-Help Project for their donations toward the realisation of the projects. The head of the facility also announced that because of COVID-19, the climax of the facility’s 60th anniversary in a grand style to celebrate foreign friends, stakeholders and staff has been postponed to 14th May 2021 so that all can participate in the historic event as one big family of St. Dominic Hospital.

In his remarks, just before he commissioned and blessed the edifices, Most Rev. Joseph Afrifah-Agyekum, expressed his deep appreciation to the founders of the Hospital, Hospital Management Team, Staff, all stakeholders, benefactors and all who contributed to make the projects a reality. The Bishop also intimated that the construction of the edifices demonstrates the great collaboration and teamwork in the facility. He further urged the Hospital Management Team, Staff and all stakeholders never to relent in the enthusiasm to continue the good work of the Dominican Sisters who established the Hospital.

Present at the event were Rev. Msgr. Francis Twum- Barimah, Vicar General/Diocesan Health Board of the Catholic Koforidua Diocese; Mr George Adjei, Director for Health and Ethics Commission, National Catholic Secretariat; Hon. Seth Birikorang, District Chief Executive of Denkyembuor District, among other Dignitaries.
